Zoe Abawi

Speech Pathology Therapy Assistant

About Zoe

What inspired you to become a speechie?
My passion for making a positive difference in children’s lives and my interest in language, psychology and biology inspired me to enter this field! It is truly my dream job as it combines all my passions into a rewarding, fun, and interesting career. I love that this career allows me to help a range of clients with different skills and abilities and to continue to learn more and more about the fascinating world of speech pathology.

Who do you like to work with?
I love working in paediatric settings and seeing the positive impact that speech therapy can have on children’s communication as they grow and develop! So far I enjoy speech and early language development, however I am open to finding more areas that I would like to work with! I love working with children and their families to work on the goals that are most important to them.

Greatest accomplishments?
Completing my Bachelor’s degree and being accepted into the Master’s program at Macquarie University. Another great accomplishment is travelling to Europe for the first time in 2022, I was able to visit family and travel to France, Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium, and Spain!

Watch Zoe at Work

I love pop-up pirate as it is so versatile and can be used in all sorts of activities. Kids really enjoy this game which helps to keep them engaged and excited throughout the session! I like that it can be used no matter which practice area you are targeting.

I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, going out to try new food and drinks, travelling and shopping! I enjoy being outdoors but also love to have my down time binge watching tv shows or reading.
