We have the most amazing team at NSPOT! Each and every one of us are here because we love what we do and we love doing it together!
The benefits of joining NSPOT
You will receive weekly one on one check ins with the Practice Director. We want to ensure that you are feeling nurtured, supported and valued, and these one on ones provide the opportunity for discussions about your development as a well-rounded therapist.
At NSPOT we truly value the importance of mentoring in developing your skills across a range of areas, including clinical and professional. New graduate and early career therapists receive weekly individual and group mentoring, and mentoring continues beyond the first year of employment. In addition to this, there is easy access to on the fly mentoring from the speechies and OTs who are in the clinic. We are always happy to help each other out!
We believe in the importance of regular access to PD in order for therapists to access the latest evidenced based updates in assessment and therapy techniques. A very generous budget is set aside to access external PD. In house PD occurs once a fortnight, and external speakers are also invited to our clinic to share their knowledge. NSPOT has proudly been hosting Hanen workshops for the past 6 years.
We have the most amazing culture at NSPOT! Our team members all get on and love working together. At NSPOT we love having fun and will find any reason to celebrate and have cake! We have wonderful quarterly team bonding events, and sometimes ones in between! At the beginning of each year, we reset our values, make them our own, and set an exciting pathway for the year to come.
Being a multi-disciplinary team provides wonderful opportunities for our Speech and Occupational Therapists to collaborate with each other to achieve best outcomes for our clients. Joint speech / OT sessions also reap great results in helping clients reach their goals. Support from our therapy assistants has really taken things to the next level!
NSPOT prides itself on creating groups and programs that are innovative and progressive. Team members’ ideas are always embraced and have resulted in the creation of the amazing programs that we currently run! Do you have some great ideas? We would love to hear them and help support the delivery of them!
We have four admin superstars who are there to provide you with support for tasks that are not related to the delivery of therapy services!
You will be provided with your own office, a laptop computer and an iPad. We have an enormous amount of resources that are always available (both hard copy and online) to support you in the delivery of your therapy services.
NSPOT has developed wonderful relationships with many schools in the greater Penrith area. A typical week will be 3.5 days in the clinic and 1.5 days at schools, with no more than one school being visited each day.
You will be thrilled seeing the benefits that occur to your clients as a result of the regular collaboration that occurs with their class teacher. You will be empowered by being given an opportunity to develop relationships with these teachers and to guide them to a deeper understanding of what speechies and OTs do, and strengthening their ability to identify potential areas of delay and to refer other children.
CLIENTS – You will work with a variety of clients who present with a variety of disorders, including:
Non – NDIS
Speech: late talkers, speech, CAS, language, social skills, fluency, literacy
OT: fine and gross motor, play skills, sensory processing, functional pre-academic and academic skills, engagement and participation.
NDIS supported disability clients

WORKLIFE BALANCE
At NSPOT we value your time, and really do not want to see you working after hours. Team members are provided with ample paperwork time, and many systems are set up for time management efficiency, so that you will not need to take work home.
One of the benefits of working in a larger team is that there are many opportunities for career progression.
How do you see your career developing as time passes? Do you see yourself being a:
Clinical mentor
Clinical educator
Senior therapist
Team leader
Some form of Clinical Specialisation?
NSPOT provides opportunities for progression to occur, so there is no need to seek further career challenges elsewhere! We are also happy to welcome experienced therapists to our team and to support them into the leadership roles that they desire.
In 2018, the NSPOT team were honoured and humbled to win Business of The Year, in the Penrith Local Business Awards, category of Health Improvement Services! The award was a reflection of the passion and enthusiasm that the entire team put in to delivering evidenced based, client centred services to their valued clients. NSPOT were very proud to become finalists in the Local Business Awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
