About Olivia

What inspired you to become a speechie?
From a young age, I knew I wanted to work in paediatrics and help children grow into their most confident selves. During high school, I discovered speech pathology and completed a week of work experience at NSPOT in 2021. In just that week, I learned so much and absolutely loved every moment and I knew that I had found my dream career. My passion for working with children has continued to grow through my four years as a swimming teacher and my paediatric placement experiences. I deeply believe that strong communication skills are so important for learning, connection, confidence, and social relationships, and I can’t wait to make a positive impact on so many children’s lives through a long and fulfilling career as a speech pathologist.

Who do you like to work with?
I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and catering to their needs. My passion is with speech sounds, however I also really enjoy working with children within the language and fluency practice areas.

Greatest Accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment so far would be working hard on my studies to complete my first 3 years of my Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree. I am also proud that I have been able to fulfil my lifelong dream of travelling to Europe.

My favourite therapy games are Uno, Pop the Pig and Bingo!

I have a lot of hobbies! I love to dance, go to the gym, swim and read (a lot) in my spare time. Hobbies are so important for me to be able to be my best self!

Current 4th Year Bachelor of Speech Pathology Student at WSU
