About Natalie
What inspired you to be an OT?
My grandparents first introduced me to the OT profession when I was in high school, and I loved it straight away. I’ve always been passionate about supporting families and working alongside other healthcare professionals to provide therapy that is fun, meaningful and holistic. One of the things I love most about OT is how broad it is – no two days look the same. I get to be creative, innovative and playful while helping my clients build the skills they need to thrive, and that’s something I’m really grateful for.”
Who do you like to work with?
Throughout my degree I was fortunate to work with a wide range of clients, patients and families. However, I knew from my very first placement in first year that my passion was working with young clients and their families. I love being part of their journey, supporting them to grow, learn and participate in the things that matter most to them.
Greatest accomplishment:
One of my greatest accomplishments has been taking time to travel, and then stepping into a leadership role where I can support and mentor other clinicians. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide others, share knowledge and help strengthen the quality of care we provide as a team.
Favourite OT Games:
I love movement-based OT games, especially anything that uses the slide, swing, balance beam or rock-climbing wall. These activities are fun, motivating and allow children to develop their motor skills, body awareness and confidence without even realising they’re ‘working.’
Hobbies:
I’ve played soccer for about 20 years, so sport has always been a big part of my life! I also love watching the Tigers in the NRL – even when they lose. In my spare time you’ll usually find me at the beach, enjoying the river walk, spending time with the people who mean the most to me, going to the gym or camping with my partner. I also love trying new restaurants and exploring different places to eat.
