About Elizabeth
What inspired you to become a SP?
Growing up, I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed interacting and communicating with my younger cousins through play. I also had the opportunity to observe speech pathology sessions involving family members who required support, which sparked my interest in the profession. Through these experiences, I developed a strong appreciation for the role communication plays in shaping identity, and I am motivated to support children in developing their own communication skills.
Who do you like to work with?
I enjoy working in paediatric settings with kids from different age ranges. At the moment, I really enjoy working with early language children and speech sounds. I know that as I continue to progress in my career, I will discover new passions and interests.
Greatest Accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is finishing my Bachelor’s degree. I am also proud of my trip to Cambodia in 2019 where I helped less fortunate people by building homes and providing families with essentials.
My favourite therapy game is Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese Pizza. This is a really fun and engaging card game which encourages engagement, attention and social interaction in a fun and low pressure environment. I also enjoy playing pop the pig because it can be used for all practice areas.
My hobbies include shopping, spending time with my family and friends, and volunteering at my local Church.
Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) – University of Sydney
