About Desiree

What inspired you to become a SP?
I’ve always been drawn to a career that allows me to support others and make a genuine difference in their lives. My interests in language and health science naturally led me to Speech Pathology. Being able to help people express themselves is truly a privilege!

Who do you like to work with?
I truly enjoy working with children upon language, literacy, stuttering, and speech sound goals. I especially enjoy supporting functional communication skills that make a real difference in everyday lives. I look forward to gaining new interests and experiences throughout my Speech Pathology career.

Greatest Accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment so far would be working hard on my studies to complete my first 3 years of my Speech Pathology degree. I am also proud that I have been able to fulfil my dream of travelling to East Asia.

I especially love bubbles as they are calming and exciting at the same time. I also really enjoy card games like Uno and Spot It!

I love spending time with family and friends, reading and going bushwalking. I also really enjoy physie and dance!

Current 4th year Bachelor of Applied Science Speech Pathology (Hons) student at The University of Sydney
