About Nathalie

What inspired you to become an OT?

When I was younger, there were certain things that I knew I wanted in a career. I really wanted to work with people and make a difference in their lives. I knew that I wanted to have a job in healthcare where I could be active and creative, but I had no idea what that would look like. I am really grateful to my aunt who introduced me to OT when I was in year 12. Since then, I have realized that I am very passionate about working closely with children and their families and helping them achieve what is most meaningful to them.

Who do you like to work with?

Growing up, I was always spending time with my younger cousins and had the best time playing games and doing arts and crafts with them. I also have a cousin that receives OT services, and it has been so rewarding to see how occupational therapy has helped her develop into the best version of herself. I feel that being part of her journey really influenced my decision to work with children. Completing my paediatric placement during my degree showed me how much I love working with children of all ages, seeing their excitement when they complete their goals and celebrating their achievements with them.

Greatest Accomplishment

I think that my greatest accomplishment is finishing my occupational therapy degree and joining the wonderful NSPOT team.

I love music and enjoy spending time playing the piano and singing with my family. I also really enjoy spending time out in nature by camping or going on walks.
