Transition to Kindergarten Group Program

This program aims to help children develop some important skills that are required for school, including the phonological awareness skills that are required to learn how to read and write, learning how to interact with peers, and understanding expected classroom behaviours and school routines.

The program also helps children develop the ability to write their name with correct letter formations, use appropriate pencil grasp and cut out simple shapes.

In this group, children will be working on:

  • Understanding school routines
  • Developing good listening skills
  • Greeting others
  • Introducing themselves
  • Taking Turns
  • Writing their name
  • Counting
  • Writing letters
  • Identifying letter sounds

Any child entering mainstream kindergarten.
