Social Skills (8 to 12 years)

Social Skills Group Program - 8 to 12 years

This group focuses on improving your child’s conversational skills in everyday situations and build confidence when meeting new friends. This group will help children develop skills to initiate, maintain and end conversations appropriately, as well as appropriately turn take, cooperate, understand body language and empathy.

The following concepts will be addressed:

  • Starting a conversation with another person.
  • Making appropriate comments and asking questions to continue a conversation.
  • Ask questions to gain information from others.
  • The importance of body language and non – verbal communication.

Children aged 8 to 12 years who are able to have a back-and-forth conversation and sit in group time for at least 20 minutes.
