Aquatic OT and Speech: Emerging Language Lions Group
To get your little ones interacting with other children and expand their verbal communication. This group focuses on verbal requests, sharing and following directions.
Who can attend?
Children with sensory processing difficulties, a communication delay and/or are wanting an opportunity to interact with some new friends.
- Auto/sequential speech verbalisation identifying that different words have different communication power.
- Turn taking
- Follow 1-2 step instructions
- Regulation
- Making friends
Between 3-5 years old (older if goals are applicable – to be determined by therapist and must have a suitable partner).
Must see NSPOT Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.
Must be able to tolerate some form of social interaction – minimum acknowledgment that someone else is next to them.
Aquatic OT and Speech: Social Group
This group is all about social communication and interactions. We want to get your children talking to their peers, and building social connections between them both in and out of the pool through an intensive crash course in social skills.
Who can attend?
Children with sensory processing difficulties, a communication delay and/or are wanting an opportunity to interact with some new friends and work on their social skills – Ages 5+
- Making & negotiating with friends
- Turn taking
- Sportsmanship
- Following directions
- Regulation
- Language stimulation across all levels
Between 3-5 years old (older if goals are applicable – to be determined by therapist and must have a suitable partner).
Must see NSPOT Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.
Must be able to tolerate some form of social interaction – minimum acknowledgment that someone else is next to them.
